UK online retailers and independent bottlers Master of Malt have launched what you can call the oldest and most expensive bottle of Scotch whisky ever released. This incredible whiskey carries a price tag of £870,000 (about $1.4 millions), making it the most expensive spirit in history.
The bottle was first distilled on the 17th February 1906 at the Aisla T’Orten distiller; though the distillery was destroyed in traffic fire and cask somehow survived. The cask contains Sherry Butt with an outturn of just one bottle; this single bottle’s worth of whisky survived in a cask which was discovered by Scottish Historian Allie Sisell.
Distilled: 17th February 1906 at the Aisla T’Orten distillery in the Western Highlands
