The LIVING LEGEND OF INDIAN CINEMA – Mr. Amitabh Bachchan needs no introduction. He is an icon and incomparable to any other super star.
He was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, on 11 October 1942. He attended Nainital’s Sherwood College, and graduated from Kirori Mal College of the University of Delhi. His father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a famous and renowned Hindi poet and his mother, Teji Bachchan, was a Sikh from Faisalabad (now in Pakistan).
He debut film was Saat Hindustani, which was directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas which bombed at box office. His many initials projects failed to make any impact and were flops. But things changed with release of his movie “Zanjeer” in 1973. He sizzled the screen as Angry Young Man and never looked back. Since then he has given numerous blockbusters and roles to remember.
Among his many awards throughout his acting career he won himself four National Film Awards, three of which are in the Best Actor category, and fourteen Filmfare Awards from 35 + nominations.
Amitabh Bachchan also received both the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan civilian awards from the Indian government.
As per some of the sources and evaluations his total personal investment and assets, are worth 177 Cr. including movable and immovable assets. Amitabh Bachchan has three houses in Mumbai – Jalsa, Pratiksha and Janak.
