Supermodel Gisele Bundchen might be world’s 1st billionaire model

Gisele Caroline Bündche, born 20 July 1980, is a Brazilian model who has acted in few movie s and is also goodwill ambassador for the UN Environment Programme. And now if the reports from Forbes are to be believed she could soon become the first billionaire model in the world.

Gisele Bundchen has been named as the first women to earn the figure, according to US currency rates, which will include her earning from modelling, endorsement and other brands she has launched.

Where is money coming from?

Her line of sandals Ipanema with Grendene, leading synthetic footwear makers is runaway success in Brazil and abroad. According to Grendene’s annual report, the Ipanema line accounts for 63% of the company’s annual exports (R$ 394.8 millions, circa $250 million), with 25 million pairs sold in 2010 alone.

Her lingerie company, Gisele Bundchen Brazilian Intimates is a joint venture with Hope, the Brazilian equivalent of Victoria’s Secret — also could land her as much as $19 million a year, the site reports.

She has been associated with luxury brands like Versace and Dior and reportedly makes over $45 million per annual in licensing her name to products ranging from jewelry to eco-friendly cosmetics and lingerie.

She also founded Sejaa Pure Skincare, the eco-friendly cosmetics company and now she is planning to sell a stake of 100% owned company.

And if you thought she was only interested in fashion and couple of brand associations then you are in for surprise. Forbes reports that her portfolio includes a hotel she owns in the south of Brazil; property in an Bahia; a villa in Costa Rica and a Brentwood, California, estate that she and husband Tom Brady snapped up for $11 million (for the land alone) and will reportedly drop another $20 million to develop.
