The major companies in respective fields, American Express and Mercedes-Benz has come together to launch their two new co-brand credit cards. The financial arm of Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Benz Financial will be launching – the Mercedes-Benz Credit Card from American Express and the Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Mercedes-Benz.
Company will be charging an annual fee of $95 for the credit card whereas the platinum card has annual fee of $475. The benefits include – 5X Membership Rewards points at Mercedes-Benz dealerships, Access to Airport Clubs, The Fine Hotels & Resorts Program and Platinum Card® Concierge and other benefits including excess miles and points on spends.
This is only the sixth time American Express has teamed with another company to offer a co-brand card. Other partnerships include Delta Airlines and JetBlue. The cards already have a potential customer base of about 3 million Mercedes-Benz drivers in the U.S.
In his statement Geoff Robinson, vice president of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services said “becoming a card member will expand the ownership experience for our current drivers and encourage aspiring owners to consider Mercedes-Benz for their next vehicle.”
