Many Luxury menswear brand have opened stores in India in recent times. The latest one being Corneliani, which launched its first store in Mumbai. The Italian brand, brought to India by the Blues Clothing Company, also plans to launch stores in Hyderabad and then Bangalore, keeping with its strategy of increasing its visibility in a very promising market.
Mumbai’s Corneliani store is spread over 100 sq metres at the Taj Mahal Hotel and carries the brand’s current Autumn/Winter’10 collection. The highlights are the light, unlined and unstructured suits. Abhay Gupta, executive director at Blues Clothing Company, says, “The merchandise in store is keeping in mind the Indian taste and sensibilities.”
Gupta adds that Corneliani is targeting the Indian man with “pronounced style and elegance. He is a patron of expert craftsmanship and grand tailoring.” Talking about the collection he says, “The colours are derived from the forest; natural shades of brown, beige and light grey are alternated, but this time in cooler and more luminous tones.”
The store also stocks jackets, trench coats and overcoats besides the regular accessories, ties and shirts, all in the price range of Rs. 5200 to Rs. 2, 37,000.
Blues Clothing Company has also brought other luxury brands like Versace, Versace Collection and Cadini to India.
