Leica unveils two limited edition M9-P Edition Hermès cameras

German-based camera maker Leica has collaborated fashion house Hermès on a pair of limited-edition cameras – the Leica M9-P Edition Hermès and the Leica M9-P Edition Hermès—Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas. Leica M9-P Edition Hermès is priced at $25,000 and will be limited to production of only 300 pieces while the latter is priced at $50,000 and limited to just 100 pieces.

Some of the selected features of new M9-P Edition Hermès have been designed in collaboration with automotive designer Walter de’Silva, including the top and base plates, the shutter speed dial, the multifunction wheel and the shutter release. The body of camera is covered with the meticulously handcrafted leather by Hermès.

The Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas is homage to late Jean-Louis Dumas, president of Hermès and a Leica photographer.  The camera comes with three lenses – a Leica Summicron-M 28 mm f/ 2 ASPH, a Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH, and a Leica APO-Summicron-M 90 mm f/ 2 ASPH.

This limited edition photographic come with fine hand-crafted Hermès camera bag with a book with a selection of Dumas pictures. This photographic work in two volumes shows an entertainingly diverse portfolio of 200 black-and-white images captured by Jean-Louis Dumas with his Leica M-camera.
