China will be building hotel in shape of ping pong (upside-down) as part of a new $45.8 (300 million yuan) million sports complex. The new hotel will be part of a 670 hectare Olympic park and will be about 150 meter. It will feature three parts, the top designed for sight-seeing, the middle will house guest rooms, and bottom used for conference facilities.
Buildings in the park have been designed by Mei Jikui. There will also be a main stadium shaped like an American football, a volleyball-shaped natatorium, a football-shaped gym stadium and a basketball-shaped stadium.
The sports bureau has signed an agreement with China Sports Industry Group that guarantees various sports games will be held in the stadiums over the next 20 years reported China Daily.
The project is planned to be completed in three phases over five years. On completion, an aerial view will be amusing to see the shapes of different sport tools.
