BMW to unveil fastest Mini ever – Mini John Cooper Works GP

BMW will be showcasing, what is slated to be the fastest version of Mini at the Paris Motor show to be held from Sep 29 to Oct 14. And yes it is fast by all standards with top speed of about 150 mph (242 km/h).  The top speed will be limited to 2000 models of Mini. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.

218 hp Mini John Cooper Works GP

The new Mini not only boosts of the some features which are attributed to high-end sports car, including a 218hp engine, individually adjustable coilover suspension, and a braking system designed for speedsters and 17 inch wheels made of a light alloy.

It has also become more eco-friendly with its 4 cylinder 1.6l engine coupled with a 6-gear manual transmission and CO2 emissions of 165 grams per kilometer.

The sports car’s standard specifications include xenon headlights in black shells, foglamps, sun protection glazing, air conditioning, and DSC with special GP mode, according to the press release.

The original Mini John Cooper Works is available since the summer in the Countryman, Clubman, Cabrio, Coupé and Roadster versions.
