The German luxury car maker Audi is playing aggressive in India market and catching the imagination of potential India buyers despite not so favourable market conditions. In 2012 between January and July, the has reportedly sold over 4,680 cars as against 3,145 during the same period last calendar year- a mind blowing growth of 49%.
Audi has dethroned rival BMW and become number one selling luxury car in India, leaving behind the iconic Mercedes at number three. Mercedes which was once the flavour of Indian consumers has been struggling to keep the sales up where as other tow have managed to gain substantial luxury car market.
Creating buzz, Audi has unveiled the new Audi A8 L sedan with a powerful and sporty 4.2 TDI engine which is priced at Rs 10,075,000 onwards (ex-showroom Maharashtra) onwards.
To give launch a push and good media coverage, Bollywood actor AbhishekBachchan was also present at the launch. He took the delivery of brand new Audi A8 L 4.2 TDI which has been customised as his taste and likings with interiors done in RED and wooden dash boards.
This car is Abhishek Bachchan’s first car which he had bought for himself.
New Audi A8 Generates power of 258 kW (350 hp) and delivers 800 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
